The poker AI you play against
Showdown AI is our poker engine, and it plays every opponent in Practice vs AI: Rival heads-up, Maya and Miles three-handed. Coach Max measures your decisions against Showdown AI's strategy for the spot.
The engine is built on the research behind Libratus and Pluribus: a strategy computed in advance by self-play, then refined in real time for the spot in front of it. Libratus beat top professionals heads-up in 2017, and in 2019 Pluribus became the first AI to do it at six-player no-limit hold'em.
How we check our poker content
Before we publish a poker claim, we check it against a library of poker books that runs from beginner guides to game-theory texts. Each chart page also says where its chart comes from and what it assumes, such as a 6-handed cash game around 100 big blinds deep.
