What made it hard
After 24 seconds Mariano raised again to $10,000. A call would cost $3,500 with TJ, who had called on the button, still to act. A raise to $10,000 would make the pot $20,850 if TJ folded and Peter called, with Peter's last $26,850 behind. TJ folded A♣ 7♦, and Peter called with Q♥ J♥. Both held a queen, and Mariano's ace outranked Peter's jack. On J♣ 5♠ 9♦ Peter paired his jack, and both checked. On the 7♥ turn Peter checked, and Mariano bluffed $26,900 with ace-high, putting Peter all-in for his last $26,850. Only the A♠ and A♥ could still win it for Mariano, since TJ had folded the A♣. Peter called at once, and the 4♥ river changed nothing. He won the $74,550 pot less Jungleman's folded $50 small blind, which the house keeps: his $36,950 became $74,500. Mariano lost $36,850; his unmatched $50 came back.
Chance to win, street by street
Each street's chances are worked out on that street's cards, among the players who called, bet or raised at some point in the hand or were still in at the end. Each of them counts up to and including the street where they fold. A player who folded without calling, betting or raising isn't counted, even after posting a blind, and a street where a counted player's cards were never shown has no row.
